A gate that drops and catches
Gates are heavy and hang off two points. Undersized hinges or a post that is not braced will always drop eventually. The fix is the right ironmongery and a properly set post.
Boundary uncertainty
It is worth agreeing the line with your neighbour before work starts. You will be told if something looks unclear rather than it being discovered halfway through.

Concrete or timber posts?
Concrete posts last longer and hold up better in exposed spots. Timber looks better. Which suits you depends on the site and the budget, and both are offered.
Do you take the old fence away?
